Key Responsibilities for the Financial Controller

  • Preparation of management accounts together for 2 group companies with supporting board report schedules (UK and Canada)
  • Reconciliation of the balance sheet
  • Managing the forecasting and budgeting process along with 3 year Strategic Plan
  • Revenue recognition through analysing complex Work In Progress
  • Close Management of Debtors and working capital
  • Managing Payroll, pensions, and related matters alongside external payroll bureau
  • Taxes: PAYE, VAT, CT and annual returns
  • Banking and treasury
  • Managing the Year End accounts process
  • Continuous improvement of reporting and processes, particularly within the company ERP (Odoo)
  • Ad-hoc queries as expected in a financial controller role

Desired Skills and Experience

  • ​Fully qualified – ACA / CIMA / ACCA
  • ​Ability to work with a high level of accuracy and meet strict deadlines
  • ​Proficient with cloud based ERP’s (Odoo)
  • ​Excellent Excel and financial modelling skills are required
  • ​Excellent interpersonal and communication skills
  • This is a standalone finance role so must be prepared to ‘get hands dirty’
